WHO IS TIM MARTIN?
Tim Martin, Senior Consultant with RIT Experts has over 25 years experience in the Retail Sector. As an investor in several well known hard good chains, he has also been an active member of senior management teams. And as an IT leader, Tim has built and managed help desks, development groups and supporting IT infrastructure.
As the IT Director at Cashway Building Centres with 66 stores across Ontario, Tim was responsible for building a new IT department, regaining control of a POS implementation, leading a Y2K conversion project and leading system integration efforts with RONA.
Tim gained valuable experience at CGI providing consulting expertise to retail clients including the management of a POS replacement project at Grand and Toy. Part of his mandate at CGI was to provide due diligence and advice on client business plans for sensitive and confidential opportunities. He also led business development, bid creation and marketing strategies for the Retail sector.
As an independent consultant, Tim has provided store technology support and services to many leading specialty retail chains.
Tim specializes in store technologies and field-level business process improvements. He has a detailed understanding of the business of retailing, and is well known in the vendor community. He is therefore uniquely positioned to determine client business requirements, source solutions and provide realistic and actionable guidance to retailers to both survive and thrive.
